Aims and scope

The main purpose of publishing the journal is to provide the wide research community and practitioners with the opportunity to publish results of research of socio-economic processes in the North and the Arctic, get acquainted with various viewpoints on topical issues of economic and social development, and take part in discussions of the topics at hand.

The Journal publishes original papers and reviews that analyze and forecast changes in economy and social sphere of various countries, regions, and local areas. Main topics are as follows: Economy of the North and the Arctic of Russia, Socio-Economic Development of the Northern and Arctic regions, Innovations and Investments in the Industry of the North and the Arctic of RF, Rational and Environmentally Balanced Nature Management in the North and the Arctic of RF, Issues of Social, Industrial and Fiscal Policy in the North and the Arctic of Russia, The Northern Sea Route and Transport-Logistics Conditions of the Northern and the Arctic Regions, Formation of Social Policy in Northern Communities, Including Single-Industry Towns of the North and the Arctic, The Corporate Sector and Its Importance for Development of the Northern and the Arctic Territories, Including Corporate Social Responsibility.

The Journal publishes papers of Russian and foreign scientists in Russian and English. Young researchers can publish their dissertation findings in the Journal as well.

The Journal’s target audience covers representatives of the scientific and expert community, university professors, graduate students, and master’s degree students who study socio-economic development of territories at the theoretical and empirical level. Materials published in the Journal contain factual information and put forward authors’ suggestions aimed to solve current issues of social development; thus, they can be interesting and useful for state and municipal authorities, business representatives, and anyone interested in economics and social development.
